Photographer Michael Massaia Captures The Beauty Of Melting Ice Cream

Article from Fine Dining Lovers

Double Melting Ice Creams

Melted ice cream isn’t usually something to celebrate but New Jersey photographer Michael Massaia has turned lemons into lemonade. His photo series Transmogrify was inspired by melting ice cream pops and showcases a variety of colors, textures and shapes that are simply mesmerizing.

“Photographed as unaltered long exposures of naturally melting ice cream pops shot with available light, they are at once whimsical and cosmic. Encompassing the widest range of interpretation as imagery from deep space photography down to the photo microscopic, they become colorful, graphically striking contemporary Rorschachs!,” the photographer expressed via a press release.

Massaia’s melting ice cream project is currently being exhibited at Gallery 270 in Englewood, New Jersey. Take a look at some of his work below but swing by his website for more food art.
