Now Showing at Gallery 270: The Greats

What do you call a group exhibit that brings together Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, James Dean, Tony Bennett and Duke Ellington among the assembled iconic images of legendary cultural and musical icons on display for this Gallery 270 show?

What else could a show be called when some of many storied photographers represented includes the likes of Henri Cartier Bresson, Harry Benson, Alfred Eisenstadt, Annie Leibowitz and Herman Leonard?

Bringing together the highest quality hand wrought, silver gelatin prints capturing some of the most iconic figures in history through the lens of legendary photographers,  “The Greats” showcases intimate and powerful portraits of cultural icons. This exhibition brings together moments of artistic genius, cultural influence, and raw human expression spanning the worlds of cinema, music, dance, and everyday life through photography, each photo a timeless glimpse into the souls of their subjects.

From the mischievous joy of a Parisian child to the brooding solitude of James Dean, from the commanding presence of Merce Cunningham to the intimate camaraderie of jazz legends, these images celebrate the essence of greatness—both in front of and behind the camera and in uniquely luminous silver gelatin prints!  With themes of passion, artistry, and human connection, The Greats invites viewers to witness the enduring power of portraiture and the remarkable individuals who shaped the cultural landscape
