Baron Wolman: Forever Young

As the Rolling Stone magazine’s first chief photographer, Baron Wolman worked from his home studio in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, and documented the Summer of Love, the music that made it famous. The music and musicians of the sixties, as well as Wolman’s pictures of them have stood the test of time – “classic rock” in the fullest sense of the word. During the late sixties and early seventies, Wolman photographed primarily in black & white since Rolling Stone had no color capability in the early days. For years he made his own prints in a basement darkroom.
