Happy Earth Day!

Sebastiao Salgado’s Genesis

Trees on island

“My camera allowed nature to speak to me. And it was my privilege to listen.” – Sebastiao Salgado

This year for Earth Day we invite you to stop by Gallery 270 and check out Sebastiao Salgado’s “Genesis”. An epic eight-year expedition to rediscover and document locations on our planet that are still as they were in the time of genesis. Salgado reminds us, “We must preserve what exists.” Available as both a 9.6 x 14.0 inch hardcover book with 17 fold-out pages, or a magnificent 704 page, 18.4 x 27.6 inch, 2 volume hardcover book with stand.

In February of 2013 Sebastiao Salgado took to the stage for TED to discuss life, death, and the importance of photography.  Watch the video here.

Sabastiao Salgado also sat down with Benedikt Taschen to discuss how creating “Genesis” changed his life.  Sebastiao Salgado discussing the creation of Genesis.
